We met in Melbourne with the Australian Construction Robotics Forum (ACRF) for another round of discussions among head contractors to advance the use of robotics in construction.
The ACRF is a non-competitive working group comprised of members from the Australian Constructors Association (ACA) and supported by the Robotics Australia Group formed to overcome systemic barriers to the adoption of robotics in construction.
Construction across all verticals – commercial, housing, and infrastructure – has challenges in productivity, safety, labour shortage, and an ageing workforce that need to be addressed by all parties. Yesterday’s discussions are another step in the right direction.
Look out for the upcoming whitepaper from the ACRF discussing the value, the challenges and the opportunities of robotics in construction in Australia.
We want to thank our RAG sponsors, John Holland, for hosting this event, and Laing O'Rourke for their valuable contribution to the Australian robotics community.
We also greatly appreciate the participation and support of all the other forward-looking head contractors in attendance today: Clough Group, CPB Contractors, Fulton Hogan, Ghella, and Multiplex. Their commitment to collaboration and innovation is crucial to driving progress in the construction industry.
