We’re proud to highlight our network member, Australian Droid and Robot (ADR), a pioneering Brisbane-based robotics company, whose recent breakthrough is set to revolutionise the mining industry. With fresh funding from Resource Capital Funds (RCF), ADR is commercializing the Explora Remote Data Acquisition System—a solution designed to meet Zero Entry Mining targets and redefine remote work in mining.
Key Benefits:
- Potential to save mine sites $13 million annually.
- Shift from FIFO (Fly In, Fly Out) to LILO (Log In, Log Out), allowing more workers to operate remotely.
- Enhanced safety through reduced underground human entry, helping prevent fatalities and cut emissions.
The Explora system acts as an underground hub for robotic units, facilitating data transmission and recharging while providing vital operational insights. This allows mines to maintain safety and efficiency without physical human presence underground.
Led by Dr. Joe Cronin (a founding director of Robotics Australia Group), a seasoned robotics expert with a PhD and a background at Rio Tinto, ADR’s vision is poised to enhance worker safety and operational sustainability in mining.
